I am a community herbalist, providing herbal programs, herbs & supplements and information to people and their pets, locally and
around the country, via phone and e-mail. I also use Shadow Cards and flower
essences for energy healing work. I have developed two wonderful herbal creams: Dr. Wendy's Wrinkle Warrior and Dr. Wendy's Sacandaga Balm Squad
which I sell locally and over the web. I have been an herbalist and herbal healer since 1992, working with the
wellness concerns of people and their pets. I discovered several years back that I
have an intuitive gift for helping people and their pets with herbs as I was
recovering from my own personal health challenges (including cancer and chronic
fatigue syndrome) by using only herbs, supplements, flower essences and shadow
card therapy. I'm now cancer-free. Besides my herbal business, I'm also the
Associate Director of the First Year Chemistry Program at our local university.

*Herbalism*
(http://wendytheherbalist.com)
Herbalism is the study of medicinal plants,
especially herbs, that feed and nourish the body. All human
civilizations have found medicinal plants in their own regions - from
northern parts of the world to the tropics. Herbs feed, regulate and
cleanse the body naturally. They do not just alleviate symptoms.
Instead, they give the body the raw materials it needs to do its OWN
healing work.

*Flower Essences*
(http://wendytheherbalist.com/floweressences.html)
Flower essences are subtle liquid extracts used to
address profound issues of emotional well-being and mind-body health.
This application of flower essences for specific emotions and attitudes
was first developed by the English physician, Dr. Edward Bach, in the
1930’s. Preparation requires careful attention to the environment, the
vibrancy and potency of the blossoms, celestial and meteorological
conditions, and the physical and energetic properties of the plant
through its cycles of growth. Flower essences work because the plant’s
life forces are transferred to the solution. Flower essences are
vibrational in nature. They are highly dilute from a physical point of
view, but have subtle power as potentized substances, embodying the
specific energetic patterns of each flower. Their impact does not derive
from any direct bio-chemical interaction within the body’s physiology.
Rather, flower essences work through the body’s energy fields, which
in turn influence mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

*Shadow Cards*
(http://wendytheherbalist.com/shadowcard2.html)
Shadow Cards were developed as a tool for mental
and spiritual rejuvenation through creative self-expression by Deni-Lynn
Thomas and Stephen Ihli. They consist of pairs of cards - one with words
and the other with images. When a pair is chosen randomly, the power of
association is stimulated. The cards access the unconscious by
exercising individual interpretation. In other words, they trigger our
intuition through recognition of metaphors in coincidence. They help us
look at the different angles of any situation, circumstance or feeling.
No matter what is happening or has happened in your life, it can be
turned into an opportunity for growth and learning.
